What is the Social Recruitment Covenant?
The Social Recruitment Covenant is a commitment by organisations to embrace inclusive work practices that aim to reduce employment barriers for individuals facing societal disadvantage. It recognises the value of promoting social inclusion within recruitment and employment processes and the positive impact that has on individuals, businesses, and wider society.
The covenant emphasises the significance and urgency of addressing the multiple intersecting barriers that hinder individuals' employment prospects, and the impact this has on communities. By embracing inclusive recruitment and retention practices, organisations are acting to remove these barriers and help millions of people who are locked out of the labour market, creating a fairer society for future generations.
When is the Social Recruitment Covenant being launched?
The Social Recruitment Covenant will be announced at a briefing event for MP's by the Rt Hon Robert Buckland at the Houses of Parliament on Tuesday 11th June.
The Social Recruitment Covenant will officially celebrate its launch with a series of high-profile announcements and PR events mid-Autumn – Signing up early enables you to benefit from this coverage.
To build the momentum we need for the scale and scope of our ambition for societal change, the impact required to influence policymakers present and future, we are asking you to encourage your organisation to pre-sign the covenant now.
This opportunity to galvanise social recruitment and social inclusion development aligns with the energy created by political change. There is so much to gain in being with us, now more than ever.
Important points to note about Covenant
There is no financial commitment associated with signing the covenant. It is a voluntary pledge that your organisation signs up to. If you would like to become one of the first signatories, please fill in an expression of interest below.
Our SRAG secretariat will then send you the official documentation to sign.
When do we need to sign up by?
SRAG Network organisations signed up by 31st May will be part of the current PR and marketing activity PeoplePlus is investing in.
